My name is Sandro, I’m 36 years old, and I’ve been driving trucks for over a decade now — but these past three years with Extra Mile International have easily been the best of my career.

I’ve been behind the wheel of many trucks in my time, but nothing compares to what I’m driving now: a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia, fully equipped, automatic, with all the latest safety and comfort features. It’s not just a truck — it’s a machine that eats miles and delivers power with style. Quiet cabin, leather seat, fridge, adaptive cruise — it has it all.

My Typical Day

I usually wake up around 6:00 AM, get my coffee ready, do a quick pre-trip inspection, and hit the road by 7. My routes are well-organized and realistic — I’m not pressured with impossible deadlines. Most of my runs are Midwest to South, with occasional coast-to-coast loads when I want to push more miles.

Throughout the day, I stay connected with dispatch — shoutout to Duke, my dispatcher, who always has my back. If there’s a delay, a change, or even a quick routing tip, I hear about it in real-time. Communication is top-notch, which means no surprises or stress.

What I Really Appreciate

  • Consistent miles — I average between 3,500–3,900 miles a week.
  • Fast pay — Direct deposit hits like clockwork every Friday.
  • No cheap freight — Loads are worth hauling.
  • Respect — Everyone at the company treats me like a professional, not just “another driver.”

The company also covers tolls, keeps my fuel card topped, and helps with any small issues before they become big ones. I’ve had breakdowns before, but Extra Mile’s 24/7 support makes sure I’m never stuck or ignored.

The Money Talk

Let’s not sugarcoat it — we all do this to make a living. And here? I’m making more than I ever thought I could behind the wheel. Clean logs, strong miles, and a company that doesn’t steal your time — it all adds up. Last year, I took my family to Mexico for a full week. This year? We’re planning Florida. And I’ve already started saving for a down payment on a house.

Final Thoughts

If you’re out there switching companies every few months, tired of broken promises and cheap miles — Extra Mile is different. They care. They pay. They keep their word. Simple as that.

I’m proud to wear the logo, proud of my truck, and proud of the roads I’ve covered.

See you out there — and if you see a shiny 2024 Freightliner with a smile behind the wheel, that’s probably me.
